Golden hour is the gold standard for Destin beach sessions roughly 45 to 60 minutes before sunset when the light turns warm, soft, and completely flattering. The Gulf faces south in Destin which means the light wraps beautifully around your subjects rather than coming in harsh from the side. Early morning sessions work well too, especially in the summer when golden hour means a very late bedtime for little ones. Either way, avoiding midday is key, the overhead sun in Destin is intense and unflattering for portraits.
