30A Beach Photographer for Families

Real Moments on the Emerald Coast

I'm Lisa Marie, a 30A beach photographer serving families, seniors, and couples along the entire Emerald Coast — Rosemary Beach, Seaside, Santa Rosa Beach, Inlet Beach, Alys Beach, WaterColor, Destin, and Panama City Beach. Sessions start at $500, booking Summer 2026 now.

If you're planning a vacation to 30A and you want photos that actually look like your family… not a stiff lineup on the sand, you're in the right place. I give your family room to move, play, and just be together. Kids don't have to stand still. Parents don't have to perform. I guide you gently and capture the in-between moments… the laughter, the chaos, the quiet snuggles, the ones you'll look at twenty years from now and feel everything.

This is 30A family photography that feels like a memory, not a photoshoot.

What a 30A Family Beach Session Looks Like

Once you book, I'll send you everything you need…what to wear, when to arrive, and which beach access point to meet at. I'll reach out the day before to confirm timing based on the sunset and tides.

Before Your Session

Once you book I'll send you a wardrobe guide, a beach access pin, and everything you need to show up relaxed and ready. The day before your session I'll reach out with your exact start time based on that day's sunrise or sunset and current tide conditions. You just show up — I handle everything else.

During Your Session:

Think of it as a walk on the beach with someone who happens to have a camera. I'll give the kids things to do, keep things moving, and prompt you naturally so nobody feels like they're performing. The real moments… the chaos, the belly laughs, the quiet ones, those are what I'm after. You won't spend your session staring into a lens.

After Your Session:

Frequently Asked Questions About 30A Beach Photography

How far in advance should I book a 30A beach photographer? As soon as you know your vacation dates, seriously. Summer and fall sessions fill up fast, and I typically book out 4 to 8 weeks during peak season. If you're coming in June, July, or August, the earlier the better. That said, if your trip is coming up soon, reach out anyway. I keep a short waitlist and last-minute spots do open up. The worst I can say is I'm already booked, and I'll try to point you in the right direction if that happens.

What time of day are 30A beach sessions scheduled? It depends on the package you choose. Sunrise sessions happen right at first light, usually between 6 and 7am depending on the time of year. The beach is empty, the light is soft and pink, and it is honestly one of my favorite times to shoot. Sunset sessions are scheduled during golden hour, the 45 to 60 minutes before the sun drops below the Gulf. The light at that time on 30A is warm, flattering, and just flat-out gorgeous. I will confirm your exact start time the day before based on that day's actual sunrise or sunset. Half Sessions are morning only at 8am or 9am. Full Sessions and Sunrise/Sunset Sessions give you the option of either.

How much does a 30A beach photography session cost? Sessions start at $500. I offer three packages depending on how much time and how many images your family needs.

The Half Session is $500 — great for smaller families or anyone who wants a quick, beautiful set of images. It's 10 to 15 minutes, 10 to 15 fully edited files, up to 6 people, and scheduled at 8am or 9am only.

The Full Session is $700 — 30 minutes, 30 edited files, up to 6 people, available morning or early evening.

The Sunrise/Sunset Session is $900 — 40 to 60 minutes, 40 to 60 edited files, up to 6 people, at sunrise or sunset. This is the most popular package for families who want the full golden-hour experience.

All packages add $50 per person over 6. Sessions booked within 30 days of your date are paid in full at booking. A $250 retainer holds your date for sessions booked further out.

What should my family wear for beach photos on 30A? After booking I'll send you a full wardrobe guide with specific color suggestions, outfit ideas, and links to pieces I love. The short version: coordinate without matching exactly, lean toward soft neutrals, creams, sage greens, dusty blues, and earthy tones, and skip busy patterns, logos, and anything neon. The water on 30A is this stunning turquoise and the skies go pink and orange at golden hour… simple, tonal outfits let all of that show up in your photos instead of competing with it. Bare feet always photograph beautifully too. Kids in simple outfits who are comfortable move more naturally, and natural movement is where the best shots come from.

How long is a 30A beach photography session? It depends on the package. The Half Session is 10 to 15 minutes — short and sweet, designed for families who want a clean set of images without a lot of standing around. The Full Session is 30 minutes, which gives us enough time to capture a mix of group shots, individual moments, and some candid movement. The Sunrise/Sunset Session is 40 to 60 minutes and gives us the most time to work…different groupings, walking shots, kids playing in the surf, couples moments, all of it. Every session is designed to keep kids comfortable. We are not doing a stiff lineup on the sand. I'll keep things moving so nobody hits a wall.

When will I receive my 30A beach photos? It depends on the package you booked. Half Sessions are delivered within 6 weeks. Full Sessions are delivered within 1 month. Sunrise/Sunset Sessions are delivered within 2 weeks — the shorter turnaround is my thank you for working with the trickiest light on the schedule. All galleries are delivered through a private online gallery where you can download every image in full resolution, share with family, and order prints directly if you want them. You'll get an email with your gallery link as soon as it's ready.

Do you photograph families at all 30A beaches? Yes, every single one. I photograph sessions all along the 30A corridor including Rosemary Beach, Seaside, Santa Rosa Beach, Inlet Beach, Alys Beach, WaterColor, Watersound, Grayton Beach, Seagrove Beach, Dune Allen Beach, Blue Mountain Beach, and Carillon Beach. I also serve Destin, Miramar Beach, and Panama City Beach. Every beach along this stretch has its own personality and I know the light, the access points, and the best spots at every time of day. Not sure which beach is right for your family? Tell me where you're staying and I'll make a recommendation. I've shot at all of them and I'll steer you toward the one that fits your vibe.

Do you photograph seniors, maternity sessions, or couples on 30A? Absolutely. Families are my bread and butter but I also photograph high school seniors, maternity sessions, and couples and engagement sessions all along the coast. If you've got a senior heading into their last year of high school, a baby on the way, or a couple who wants beach portraits during their vacation, I would love to make that happen. The booking process is the same, just reach out and tell me what you're looking for and we'll figure out the right package and location for your session.

What happens if it rains or the weather is bad on my session day? We work with the weather as much as we can. Overcast skies can actually be beautiful for beach portraits… soft, even light with no harsh shadows. Light rain sometimes clears right before sunset and leaves behind the most dramatic skies. If conditions are truly not workable….heavy rain, lightning, or a full overcast with no color, we'll reschedule to the next available date that works for both of us. I'll always make the call the day of your session and I'll communicate with you directly so there's no guessing on your end.

Can you photograph extended families or large groups on 30A? Yes, and I love a big group session. All packages include up to 6 people and I add $50 per person beyond that. Large extended family sessions — grandparents, multiple families, the whole crew — work really well as Sunrise/Sunset Sessions because the longer time gives us room to do full group shots plus individual family units without feeling rushed. If you're planning a big family reunion or multi-family vacation, reach out early. Large group sessions do take a little more coordination and I want to make sure we get it right.

Do you have a second photographer? Yes, my daughter Makayla shoots alongside me on sessions that call for it. Having a second set of eyes means we can capture both ends of a big family at once, get candid moments while I'm directing, and make sure nothing is missed. For extended family sessions and large groups especially, having both of us there makes a real difference in the final gallery.

Where are you based and how far do you travel for sessions?I'm based in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, right in the heart of 30A. I serve the full Emerald Coast corridor from Destin on the west end to Panama City Beach on the east, and every community along 30A in between. I also do seasonal sessions in Oklahoma, primarily in the Mount Scott area. If you're visiting from out of state and want to book a session during your 30A vacation, that is exactly what I'm here for, most of my clients are traveling families who want photos to remember their trip.
