Rosemary Beach Family Photographer
Real Moments, Beautiful Light, Easy Sessions
I'm Lisa Marie, and I've been photographing families on and around Rosemary Beach for over 10 years. If you're staying in Rosemary and want beach photos that actually feel like your trip…relaxed, real, and genuinely beautiful, I'd love to be your photographer.
Sessions start at $500 and I handle every detail from location to timing so all you have to do is show up.
What It's Actually Like to Shoot at Rosemary Beach
Rosemary Beach is one of those places that looks like somebody turned the saturation up. The West Indies-style architecture, the painted wooden boardwalks, the way the sea oats move when the Gulf breeze picks up right before sunset and it photographs differently than anywhere else on 30A, and I mean that in the best possible way.
Here's what I've learned after shooting here so many times: the town itself is gorgeous but the beach access is where the magic lives. Rosemary's private walkovers are narrow and the town square gets busy, so I position families at the public access points just east and west of the community where the shore opens up wide and the dunes stack high enough to block out everything that isn't you and your people and that incredible water.
The light at Rosemary Beach does something in the last hour before sunset that I genuinely cannot explain, it bounces off those pale building facades and fills in shadows in a way that makes every skin tone look incredible. I've chased that light with hundreds of families and I still get excited about it every single time. Sunrise is equally special here. The beach is completely empty, the water is calm, and the color shift from that early steel blue to warm gold happens so gradually that you almost don't notice until you're standing in the middle of it.
If your family is staying in Rosemary or anywhere on the eastern stretch of 30A near Inlet Beach or Alys Beach, this is the part of the coastline I know best and honestly love most. I know which accesses give you the widest shore, which ones have the prettiest dune backdrops, and what time the light peaks depending on the season. You don't have to figure any of that out. That's my job.
What a Rosemary Beach Session With Me Actually Looks Like
Most families who book with me are visiting 30A for the week and want photos that feel like the trip actually felt and not stiff, not posed, not "everyone look at the camera and smile." They want the kids running into the surf. They want the dad who never puts his phone down suddenly carrying his daughter on his shoulders into the water. They want the mama who says she's not photogenic to get a photo that makes her see herself the way everyone else already does.
That's what I'm there for.
I'll give you enough direction to feel comfortable and then get out of the way and let your family be your family. The sessions are easy. Kids don't have to cooperate and honestly the chaos is usually where the best frames are hiding. By the time we wrap up most families tell me it didn't feel like a photo session at all, and that's exactly what I'm going for.
I photograph families of all sizes at Rosemary Beach from couples, little ones, big extended crews, seniors, and everyone in between. If you've got a group that needs wrangling, I've done it. If you've got a toddler who is a complete wild card, I've done that too. Bring them all.

Frequently Asked Questions About Rosemary Beach Photography
Where exactly do you shoot in Rosemary Beach? The private walkovers inside Rosemary Beach are gorgeous but have commercial photography restrictions, so I use the public beach access points on the edges of the community where the shore is wider and the dunes are higher. These spots actually photograph better than the town walkover because we get more room to move and more sky in the frame. I'll tell you exactly where to meet me when you book.
What time of day is best for a Rosemary Beach session? Both sunrise and sunset are incredible at Rosemary Beach for different reasons. Sunrise gives you an empty beach, calm water, and that dreamy early light that makes everything feel soft and quiet. Sunset brings warm golden tones, dramatic skies, and that particular kind of happy that happens at the end of a long beach day. If you have little ones who are morning people, sunrise is magic. If your crew is more of a stay-up-late family, sunset won't disappoint.
How far in advance should I book for Rosemary Beach? Summer and fall weekends book out fast, especially at sunset. I'd recommend booking as soon as you know your travel dates — 4 to 8 weeks out is ideal. If your trip is within 30 days, spots are sometimes still available and your session is simply paid in full at booking rather than with the retainer split.
What should we wear for our Rosemary Beach session? Rosemary Beach has a beautiful, slightly elevated feel to it, so outfits that are a little beachy but still put-together tend to photograph beautifully there. Flowy dresses, linen, soft neutral tones, they all work wonderfully against those pale building facades and the turquoise water. I send every family a full outfit guide after booking so you're not guessing.
Do you photograph seniors and couples at Rosemary Beach too? Yes, absolutely. Rosemary Beach is one of my favorite spots for senior portraits because the architecture gives you a backdrop that's completely unlike any other beach location on 30A. Couples sessions there are equally beautiful, the cobblestone paths and painted boardwalks photograph like something out of a travel magazine. Reach out and I'll walk you through how those sessions work.
Can you shoot at the Pearl Hotel or inside the Rosemary Beach town square? The Pearl and the private areas of Rosemary Beach require permission for commercial photography, which varies based on event bookings and town policies. What I can tell you is that the beach access points just outside the community give you equally stunning results without the logistics headache and in many cases the photos are better because we have more room and more natural light to work with.
How long until I get my gallery? It depends on which session you book. The Sunrise/Sunset Session galleries are delivered within 2 weeks. Full Session galleries are delivered within 1 month. Half Session galleries are delivered within 6 weeks. You'll receive a beautiful online gallery through Pic-Time where you can download, share, and order prints.
Do I need to be staying in Rosemary Beach to book a session there? Not at all. Plenty of my clients stay in Alys Beach, Inlet Beach, WaterColor, or Seaside and choose Rosemary Beach for their session because they love the look of it. I serve the entire eastern 30A corridor and beyond. Wherever you're staying, I can find a spot that works beautifully.
