“Where Do You Find All Those Seashells?!” — I’m Finally Sharing My Favorite Spots!

If you’ve been keeping up with my stories, you already know—seashell hunting is my thing. I can’t help myself. Every walk on the beach turns into a treasure hunt, and before I know it, my camera bag’s full of scallops, sand dollars, and the occasional magical find I swear washed up just for me.

And apparently… y’all have noticed.

Because nearly every new family I meet on the beach asks the same question with wide eyes and sandy smiles:

“Where do you find all your seashells?”

Well, today’s your lucky day, because I’m finally spilling my secrets! These are my favorite actual locations where I’ve found the most beautiful shells while exploring the stunning coastline of 30A and Panama City Beach.

This spot is a gem. With tons of parking, a gorgeous walk through the dunes, and access to both the Gulf, this area is perfect for shell hunting—especially at low tide or after a storm. Kids love it here, and the landscape is so peaceful, it’s like stepping into a postcard.

Pro tip: Get there early in the morning before other treasure hunters beat you to it!

2. Shell Island

This spot is next level. You’ll need to take the Shell Island Ferry or rent a pontoon to get there (which is honestly half the fun). Once you arrive, it’s like a private paradise—with miles of untouched shoreline and tons of seashells just waiting to be discovered.

Make a day of it—pack snacks, water, sunscreen, and your sense of adventure. It’s one of those “core memory” kind of places, especially for the kids.
